“This is an exciting move for CommPac,” said Kitty Lagareta, CommPac chairman and CEO. “We’re thrilled to call Gilbert & Associates one of our strategic partners. Larry Gilbert has built a strong, reputable agency over the last 35 years. There are so many ways our two companies fit and complement one another.”
“This is a significantly positive evolution for our company and our clients,” said Larry Gilbert, founder and president of Gilbert & Associates. “We have an extensive, seasoned presence on the Neighbor Islands. This partnership with CommPac affords us an opportunity to better service current and future Oahu-based clients.”
Both firms have offered marketing, advertising, public relations and community building services for several years. However, Gilbert & Associates’ roots are in advertising and marketing, while CommPac’s are in public relations and community building.
Lagareta said her company realized it could provide advertising services more efficiently by partnering with a strong agency whose core competencies are in the advertising discipline. “We are continually looking at who we need to be in the 21st century to serve our clients at the highest level, and we concluded that carefully targeted partnerships make a lot of sense,” she said. “We have a number of clients who require marketing communications on the Neighbor Islands, and this partnership significantly strengthens our on-the-ground capabilities.”
“This strategic partnership with CommPac bolsters Gilbert & Associates’ ability to deliver the superior public relations and community outreach services that our clients are seeking more of today,” Gilbert said.
Both Gilbert and Lagareta said the client base of both firms fit like a glove. “There are industries where we both bring deep experience – such as retail, consumer products and services, land use and clean energy – and other industries where one partner brings a new area of opportunity to the other,” Gilbert said.
Lagareta added, “Although CommPac has many clients doing business on the Neighbor Islands, we sometimes find ourselves being Oahu-centric. Larry and his team provide a consistent and deeper connection to opportunities that are brewing for our clients and/or CommPac on the Neighbor Islands.”
